Diana Obinja’s video project “Frozen Tears” tells the story of the Annunciation. We see Mary in a winter landscape sitting by a river, where Gabriel comes to her. He brings his message and leaves again. Mary sees him coming and going – and she is now left with a task in which Crucifixion and Resurrection are already an integral part.
“Heaven on Earth” is the title of the exhibition on the Annunciation in contemporary art to which Diana Obinja contributed “Frozen Tears”. Starting in Bamberg in May 2005, it has been on show in various towns and cities.
